Job Title :Civil Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

To oversee and maintain the quality of the materials testing laboratory functions as they relate to design and
construction of projects. To assist the Head of material testing division indivision in the operation of laboratory
and to perform physical and mechanical testing of construction materials (sand, aggregate, concrete, cement,
soil, asphalt, blocks and other related constituents).

Main Activities:

  • Ensures a tidy workplace in the central laboratory.
  • Examines and prepares samples for testing.
  • Carries out all physical tests and checks the test results.
  • Calculates and checks the test results and assists in the preparation of the reports.
  • Reviews final test reports as directed by the Head of material testing division.
  • Maintains and calibrates test equipment.
  • Carries out sampling, testing and non-destructive testing on site.
  • Provide timely, accurate service in response to the Head of material testing division requests;
  • Participate with the in organizing the testing activities
  • Control testing activities during construction projects; spot check data for errors;
  • Meet with inspectors, engineers, contractors, and/or developers to determine corrective action required
    when there are discrepancies between work done and the approved plans, specifications and standards;
  • Perform calculations and operate computer software;
  • Maintain and repair materials testing equipment as necessary;
  • Obtain necessary data and design pavement structural sections;
  • Determine whether or not street subgrade meets the specification for stability;
  • Evaluate tests on asphalt concrete;
  • Take samples of construction materials for examination or analysis in laboratories.
  • Assist in the development of the Quality Management System of the company
  • Ensures that tests are carried with integrity and accuracy and that test equipment are functioning in good
    condition

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) (BE) in engineering from three Five years or equivalent college or university.

Other Information:

A high degree of professional integrity and the ability to work with others is essential. The ability to remain up
to date with latest technology, plus the ability to absorb new skills and techniques is also most important.
